​Founder of Allegorithmic, VP and Head of 3D & Metaverse at Adobe - Academy Award recipient

Sebastien will receive a Technical  Achievement Award,
​and tell us more about his career, and Allegorithmic's success, during a fireside chat. 

​Sebastien  Deguy  founded  Allegorithmic in 2003 (20 years ago in May!) to develop the ideas in his PhD, completed at the end of 2001.  
​
As CEO, he led  Allegorithmic in becoming a market leader in 3D texturing with the Substance line of products, a critical component in the production workflows for Games, Visual Effects, Retail & Marketing, Product Design and other industries. 
​
When  Allegorithmic  joined Adobe in January 2019,  Sébastien  took on the  position of Vice President and Head of 3D & Metaverse. His team is responsible for the development of Adobe in the 3D space, after leading digital transformation of printing (with postscript and pdf), imaging (with Photoshop), video (with Premiere and After Effects).​

Last March, Sébastien  Deguy  (along with Sylvain Paris, Nicolas Wirrmann and Christophe Soum, all based in Clermont-Ferrand) won a Technical  Achievement Awards at the Oscars in Los Angeles, for the concept and original  implementation of the “Substance system” and Substance Designer, and the impact of these technologies and tools had over the year on the very art and science of cinema and animation. 

​On the side, Sébastien is also a music ​producer, his latest production featuring hip hop masters like Raekwon from the Wu-Tang Clan, with a double album currently being finalized with MCs like Ghostface Killah from the Wu-Tang Clan, Havoc from Mobb Deep or Killer Mike from Run the Jewels, and with the critically acclaimed Orchestre Lamoureux. ​
